The Company is a global financial institution of Dutch origin, currently offering banking, investments, life insurance and retirement services to meet the needs of a broad customer base. Its segments include banking and insurance. Insurance segment includes insurance Benelux, insurance central and rest of Europe (CRE), insurance United States (US), Insurance US closed block VA, insurance Asia/Pacific, ING investment management and corporate line insurance. ING Insurance Asia/Pacific (IAP) is a provider of life insurance and wealth management products and services. The business units in Asia/Pacific offer select types of life insurance, wealth management, and retail and institutional asset management products and services. These include annuities, endowment, disability/morbidity insurance, unit linked/ universal life, whole life, participating life, group life, accident and health, term life and employee benefits. In Hong Kong non-life insurance products (including medical, motor, fire, marine, personal accident and general liability) are also offered. Company's wholesale banking focuses on the Netherlands, Belgium, Poland and Romania, where it offers a full range of products, from cash management to corporate finance. Elsewhere, it takes a more selective approach to clients and products.
