Internap Corp a Washington corporation was incorporated in 1996 and reincorporated in Delaware in 2001. It provides IT infrastructure services that enable its customers to focus on their core business, improve service levels and lower the cost of IT operations. The Company operates in two business segments, data center services and IP services. The data center services segment includes colocation, hosting and cloud services. Colocation involves providing physical space within data centers and associated services such as power, interconnection, environmental controls and security while allowing its customers to deploy and manage their servers, storage and other equipment in its secure data centers. Hosting and cloud services involve the provision and maintenance of customers' hardware, operating system software, data center infrastructure and interconnection, while allowing customers to own and manage their software applications and content. It sells data center services at 43 data centers across North America, Europe and the Asia-Pacific region. IP services segment includes patented Performance IP service, content delivery network (CDN) services and IP routing and hardware and software platform. The Company's IP services are delivered through 87 Internet Protocol (IP) service points around the world, which include 25 CDN points of presence (POPs). It currently has approximately 13,000 customers, serving industries such as entertainment and media, including gaming; financial services; business services; software, including Software-as-a-Service (SaaS); hosting and information technology infrastructure; and telecommunications.
