Inter Parfums, Inc. was organized under the laws of the State of Delaware in May 1985 as Jean Philippe Fragrances, Inc., it changed its name to Inter Parfums, Inc. in July 1999. The Company operates in the fragrance business, and manufactures, markets and distributes an various fragrances and fragrance related products. The Company manages its business in two segments, European based operations and United States based operations. It produces and distributes its prestige fragrance products mainly under license agreements with brand owners. It has built a portfolio of prestige brands, which include Burberry, Lanvin, Jimmy Choo, Van Cleef & Arpels, Montblanc, Paul Smith, Boucheron, S.T. Dupont, Balmain and Repetto, whose products are distributed in over 120 countries around the world. Its specialty retail and mass market fragrance and fragrance related products are marketed through its United States operations. These fragrance products are sold under trademarks owned by it or pursuant to license or other agreements with the owners of brands which include the Gap, banana republic, Anna Sui, Brooks Brothers, bebe, Betsey Johnson, Nine West, Lane Bryant and Jordache. Specialty retail has become an important part of its overall business, and United States operations are continuing to expand the global distribution of the specialty retail brands with which it had partnered. In addition, the Company has been approached by other specialty retailers to determine if there is interest in establishing a relationship whereby it would design, produce and manufacture fragrance and fragrance related products similar to its existing relationships with specialty retailers. In connection with specialty retail agreements in its United States operations, the Company designs, produces and manufactures fragrance and fragrance related products for brand name specialty retailers, mainly in its retail stores.
