L-3 Communications Holdings Inc is engaged as a system contractor in aircraft modernization & maintenance, Command, Control, Communications, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance systems, and government services.

L-3 Communications Holdings Inc is a Delaware corporation organized in April, 1997. The Company is a prime contractor in Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance systems, aircraft sustainment, simulation and training, night vision and image intensification equipment and security and detection systems. The Company has three reportable segments: Electronic systems, Aerospace Systems and Communication Systems. Electronic systems segment provides products and services, including components, products, subsystems, systems and related services to military and commercial customers in niche markets. Aerospace segment provides products and services for the ISR market in signals intelligence and multi-intelligence platforms, to include full motion video, electro-optical, infrared and synthetic aperture radars, along with other types of information gathering systems. Its products and services provide the warfighter with the ability to collect and analyze data from command centers, communication nodes and air defense systems for real-time situational awareness and response. The businesses in this segment also provides modernization, upgrades and sustainment, maintenance and logistics support solutions for military and government aircraft and other platforms. The Communications Systems segment provides network and communication systems, secure communication products, radio frequency components, satellite communication terminals & space, microwave and telemetry products. Its products are used to connect space, airborne, ground and sea-based communication systems and are used in the transmission, processing, recording, monitoring, and dissemination functions of these communication systems. The Company is subject to governmental laws and regulations.
