Laredo Petroleum Inc was incorporated on August 12, 2011. The Company is an independent energy company focused on the exploration, development and acquisition of oil and natural gas properties mainly in the Permian Basin in West Texas. The Company operates in two business segments, which are exploration and production and midstream and marketing. The exploration and production segment is engaged in the acquisition, exploration and development of oil and natural gas properties in the Permian Basin in West Texas. The midstream and marketing segment provides Laredo's exploration and production segment and certain third parties with products and services that need to be delivered by midstream infrastructure, including oil and natural gas gathering services as well as rig fuel, natural gas lift and water in and around Laredo's primary production corridors, water takeaway in and around Laredo's primary production corridors, and oil and natural gas takeaway optionality in the field. The Company's oil and natural gas exploration, production and related operations are subject to extensive federal and state laws, rules and regulations.
