The Company is reorganized into six segments, reflecting the broad geographic regions: Retail; Group, Voluntary & Worksite Benefits; Corporate Benefit Funding; and Latin America (collectively, the "Americas"); Asia; and Europe, the Middle East and Africa ("EMEA"). The Company's Retail segment is organized into two businesses: Life & Other and Annuities. The products with in Life & Other includes; Variable life, Universal life, Term life, Whole life, Disability, Property & Casualty, Auto insurance, Variable annuities and Fixed annuities. Its Group, Voluntary & Worksite Benefits segment is organized into two businesses: Group and Voluntary & Worksite. The products within Group & Voluntary & Worksite includes; Life, dental, Disability, Long-term Care and Property & Casualty. Its Corporate Benefit Funding segment provides funding and financing solutions; its products include Stable Value Products, Torts and Settlements, Capital Markets Investment Products, and Other Corporate Benefit Funding Products and Services. Its Latin America segment operates in seven countries; Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Mexico, and Uruguay. The Latin America segment engages in the business of Accident & health insurance, Administradora de Fondos de Ahorro para el Retiro, Credit insurance and ProVida. The Company's Asia segment operates in nine countries; Japan, Korea, China, India, Australia, Bangladesh, Hong Kong, Nepal and Pakistan. Its Asia segment engages in Life insurance, Accident & health insurance, Retirement and savings products & Credit insurance. The Company's EMEA segments operate in 30 countries; including Poland, the Persian Gulf and Russia; and engages in the business similar to Asia. The Company believes that competition faced by its business segments is based on a number of factors, including service, product features, scale, price, financial strength, claims-paying ratings, credit ratings, ebusiness capabilities and name recognition.
