Nordson Corporation is an Ohio Corporation. The Company engineers, manufactures and markets differentiated products and systems used for adhesive, coating, sealant and biomaterial dispensing, fluid management, testing and inspection, curing, and surface treatment, backed with application expertise and direct global sales and service. Nordson serves a variety of consumer non-durable, consumer durable and technology end markets including packaging, nonwovens, electronics, medical, appliances, energy, transportation, building and construction, and general product assembly and finishing. The Company's operating segments are Adhesive Dispensing Systems, Advanced Technology Systems, and Industrial Coating Systems. Adhesive Dispensing Systems segment delivers its proprietary precision dispensing technology to diverse markets for applications that commonly reduce material consumption, increase line efficiency and enhance product strength, durability, brand and appearance. Advanced Technology Systems segment integrates its proprietary product technologies found in progressive stages of a customer's production process, such as surface preparation, precisely controlled dispensing of material onto the surface, bond testing and X-ray inspection to ensure quality. This segment mainly serves the specific needs of electronics, medical and related high-tech industries. Industrial Coating Systems segment provides both standard and highly-customized equipment used mainly for applying coatings, paint, finishes, sealants and other materials, and curing and drying of dispensed material. This segment mainly serves the consumer durables market. The Company manufactures specially designed parts and assembles components into finished equipment. Its manufacturing facilities are located in the United States in California, Colorado, Georgia, Minnesota, New Jersey, Ohio and Rhode Island, as well as in Belgium, China, Germany, India, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom. The Company is subject to extensive federal, state, local and foreign environmental, safety and health laws and regulations concerning, among other things, emissions to the air, discharges to land and water and the generation, handling, treatment and disposal of hazardous waste and other materials.
