TE Connectivity Ltd designs and manufactures products to connect power, data, and signal in various industries including automotive, energy, industrial, broadband communications, healthcare, and aerospace and defense. The Company operates through four reporting segments namely Transportation Solutions, Network Solutions and Industrial Solutions. It manufactures and distributes its products and solutions to a number of end markets. The Transportation Solutions segment operates in electronic components, including terminals and connectors, relays, and sensors, as well as application tooling, wire and heat shrink tubing, and other custom-engineered solutions for the automotive market including the industrial and commercial vehicle and hybrid and electric vehicle markets. Its products include Terminals and connector systems and components, Relays, Circuit protection devices, Sensors, Application tooling and Wire and heat shrink tubing. The Network Solutions segment is the supplier of infrastructure components and systems for the telecommunications market and electronic components for the data communications market. The Company's products include connectors, fiber optics, wire and cable, racks and panels, and wireless products. It also develops, manufactures, installs and maintains subsea fiber optic communications systems. The Industrial Solutions segment is a supplier of products that connect and distribute power and data, including connectors, heat shrink tubing, relays, and wire and cable, as well as custom-engineered solutions. The Company's products are used in the industrial; aerospace, defense, and marine; and energy markets. Its products are Terminals and connector systems and components, Heat shrink tubing, Relays and Wire & Cable. Its products are Terminals and connector systems and components, Circuit protection devices, Relays, Antennas and Heat shrink tubing. Its raw materials include plastic resins for molding, precious metals such as gold and silver for plating, and other metals such as copper, aluminum, brass, and steel for manufacturing cable, contacts, and other parts that are used for cable and component bodies and inserts. The Company is subject to numerous federal, state, and local environmental protection and health and safety laws and regulations in the various countries where it operates.
