Petrobras Argentina SA was organized and existing under the laws of Argentina and registered on November 17, 1947. The Company is engaged in the upstream and downstream operations as well as transmission, generation and distribution of electric power. Its products include petrochemicals, asphalts, lubricants, and fuels. It has operations in Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Ecuador, Mexico and Venezuela, including a refinery located in Buenos Aires. The Company's operations are structured into four segments: Oil and Gas Exploration and Production, Gas and Energy, Refining and Distribution, and Petrochemicals. The Oil and Gas Exploration and Production segment engages in the oil and gas exploration and production activities primarily in Argentina, Bolivia, Ecuador, and Venezuela. As of December 31, 2012, its liquid hydrocarbon and natural gas proved reserves totaled 215.3 million barrels of oil equivalent, including 88.8 million barrels of oil equivalent and 758.9 billion cubic feet of gas. The Refining and Distribution segment operates a refinery at Bahía Blanca that produces diesel oil, gasoline, fuel oil, intermediate fuel oil, and other oil related products; and operates a network of approximately 271 gas stations comprising 260 stations under the Petrobras trademark, 26 Spacio 1 convenience stores, and 5 agro-centers. The Petrochemicals segment is involved in the production and sale of intermediate gasoline, aromatic solvents, hexane and other hydrogenated paraffinic solvents, propellants for the cosmetic industry, monomer styrene, rubbers, and polymers. Further, The Gas and Energy segment engages in the sale and trade of gas; provision of brokerage services to producers that outsource sales; and transportation of gas in southern region of Argentina, as well as in the generation and distribution of electricity through Hydro electrical and renewable sources. The Company is a subsidiary of Petróleo Brasileiro S.A.
