Rockville Financial, Inc. was incorporated under the laws of Connecticut in 2004. The bank is a provider of traditional banking products and services to business organizations and individuals, offering products such as residential, commercial real estate, commercial business and consumer loans and a variety of deposit products. It serves the financial service needs of the local community and provides quality service to the individuals, families, professionals and businesses in the market areas it serves. One of its main lending activities consists of the origination of one-to-four family residential mortgage loans that are mainly secured by properties located in Hartford, New London and Tolland Counties in Connecticut. It originates commercial real estate loans and loans on owner occupied properties used for a variety of business purposes including small office buildings, industrial facilities and retail facilities. The company offers commercial construction loans including real estate subdivision development loans to licensed contractors and builders for the construction and development of commercial real estate projects and one-to-four family residential properties. The Bank offers adjustable rate (ARM) mortgages which do not contain interest-only or negative amortization features & also offer home equity loans and home equity lines of credit, both of which are secured by owner-occupied one-to-four family residences. The Company is subject to strong competition from banks and other financial institutions, including savings and loan associations, commercial banks, finance and mortgage companies, credit unions, consumer finance companies, brokerage firms and insurance companies. It operates in a primarily suburban market area that has a stable population and household base. All of current branch offices are located in Connecticut in Hartford, New London and Tolland Counties. Rockville Bank is subject to regulation by the Connecticut Banking Department, as its chartering agency, and by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, as its deposit insurer.
