WestRock Co was was formed on March 6, 201. The Company provides paper and packaging solutions in consumer and corrugated markets. It offers corrugated container, paperboard, partitions & protective packaging, containerboard and beverage multipacks. The Company operates in North America, South America, Europe and Asia. It also operates a specialty chemicals business and develops real estate in Charleston, South Carolina. The Company's business segments are Corrugated Packaging, Consumer Packaging, Specialty Chemicals, and Land and Development. The Corrugated Packaging segment operates an integrated corrugated packaging system that manufactures containerboard, corrugated sheets, corrugated packaging and preprinted linerboard for sale to consumer and industrial products manufacturers and corrugated box manufacturers. It produces a full range of corrugated containers designed to protect, ship, store and display products made to its customers' merchandising and distribution specifications. The Consumer Packaging segment operates an integrated virgin and recycled fiber paperboard mills and consumer packaging converting operations, which convert items such as folding and beverage cartons, displays, dispensing, and interior partitions. The Company's integrated system of virgin and recycled mills produces paperboard for its converting operations and third parties. The Specialty Chemicals segment manufactures, markets and distributes specialty chemicals derived from sawdust and other byproducts of the papermaking process in North America, Europe, South America and Asia. Products include performance chemicals derived from pine chemicals used in printing inks, asphalt paving and adhesives as well as in the agricultural, paper and petroleum industries. The Land and Development develops real estate including selling development property, entitling and improving tracts, and master planning of select landholdings. The Company markets its products through its own sales force. It also markets a number of its products through independent sales representatives, independent distributors or both. The Company's operations are subject to federal, state, local and foreign laws and regulations relating to workplace safety and worker health including OSHA and related regulations.
