GuruFocus Profitability Rank ranks how profitable a company is and how likely the company’s business will stay that way. It is based on these factors:

1. Operating Margin
2. Trend of the Operating Margin (5-year average). The company with an uptrend profit margin has a higher rank.
••3. Consistency of the profitability
4. Piotroski F-Score
5. Predictability Rank•

The maximum rank is 10. A rank of 7 or higher means a higher profitability and may stay that way. A rank of 3 or lower indicates that the company has had trouble to make a profit.

Profitability Rank is not directly related to the Financial Strength Rank. But if a company is consistently profitable, its financial strength will be stronger.

Rouse Properties Inc is a Delaware corporation organized in August 2011. The Company is a real estate investment trust. It owns and manages dominant regional malls in protected markets or submarkets in the United States. The Company manages all of its properties, performs the day-to-day functions, operations, leasing, maintenance, marketing and promotional services. As of December 31, 2013, its portfolio consisted of 34 regional malls in 21 states totaling over 23.4 million square feet of retail and ancillary space. The Company's malls are anchored by operators across the retail spectrum, including department stores such as Macy's, Dillard's, Bon-Ton, jcpenney, Sears and Target; mall shop tenants like Victoria's Secret, Bath & Body Works, Forever 21, francesca's, Chico's, The Children's Place, Gymboree/Crazy 8, Gap/Old Navy, Foot Locker, Maurices, Justice and Ulta; restaurants ranging from food court leaders like Chick-fil-A, Sarku Japan, and Panda Express to fast-casual chains like Chipotle, Panera Bread and Starbucks and high volume sit down restaurants such as BJ's Restaurant, Olive Garden, Red Lobster and Buffalo Wild Wings.
