Sussex Bancorp is a bank holding company incorporated under the laws of the State of New Jersey in January 1996 and the parent company of Sussex Bank. It is a bank holding company for Sussex Bank. Its primary business is ownership and supervision of the Bank. Through the Bank, it conducts a traditional commercial banking business, and offer services including personal and business checking accounts and time deposits, money market accounts and savings accounts. It engages in a range of lending activities and offer commercial, consumer, mortgage, home equity and personal loans. The Bank has two business segments, banking and financial services and insurance services. The Company acts as an independent community financial service provider and offers traditional banking and related financial services to individual, business and government customers. Through its branch and automated teller machine networks, the Bank offers a full array of commercial and retail financial services, including taking of time, savings and demand deposits; the making of commercial, consumer and mortgage loans; and the providing of other financial services. It operates from its main office and has nine branch offices located in Andover, Augusta, Franklin, Montague, Newton, Sparta, Vernon, and Wantage, New Jersey, and in Port Jervis, New York. Its service area consists of Sussex and Bergen Counties in New Jersey and Orange County, New York; although it makes loans throughout New Jersey and the New York metropolitan markets. The Company competes for deposits and loans with commercial banks, thrifts and other financial institutions. The Company and the Bank are subject to extensive regulation under federal and state laws.
