The Company is engaged in the electronic design automation software and related services for semiconductor design companies. It delivers semiconductor design and verification software platforms and integrated circuit manufacturing software products to the electronics market. In addition, it provides intellectual property, system-level design hardware and software products and design services. The products and services of the Company are divided into four common groupings which are Galaxy Design Platform and Verification Continuum Platform, Intellectual Property (IP), manufacturing solutions and professional services. The Company's Galaxy Design Platform provides its customers with a single, integrated IC design solution which includes individual products and which incorporates common libraries and consistent timing, delay calculation and constraints throughout the design process. The Company's Verification Continuum Platform provides virtual prototyping, static and formal verification, simulation, emulation, FPGA-based prototyping and debug in a unified environment with verification IP and planning and coverage technology. Intellectual property (IP) products, include pre-designed circuits that engineers use as components of larger chip designs. The Manufacturing Solutions include Sentauru Technology-CAD (TCAD) device and process simulation products, Proteus mask synthesis tools, CATS mask data preparation product, and Yield Explorer and Odyssey/Yield Manager Yield Management solutions. The Professional services platform provides consulting and design services. These services assist its customers with new tool and methodology adoption, chip architecture and specification development, functional and low-power design and verification and physical implementation and signoff. It also provides training and workshops on its tools and methodologies. The Company operates in United States, Europe, Japan and Asia Pacific. The Company is subject to rules and regulations promulgated by a number of governmental and self-regulated organizations, including the SEC, NASDAQ and the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board.
