Business Description

Superior Energy Services Inc is a Delaware Corporation. The Company is a provider of specialized oilfield services and equipment. It offers a wide variety of conventional products and services generally categorized by their typical use during the economic life of a well drilling, completions and production. Drilling products includes downhole drilling tools and surface rentals; Onshore completion and workover services includes pressure pumping, fluid handling and workover services; Production services includes intervention services and specialized pressure-control tools used for pressure control and intervention operations. The operations of the Company are organized into three segments: Subsea and Well Enhancement; Drilling Products and Services; and Marine. The subsea and well enhancement segment provides production-related services used to enhance, extend and maintain oil and gas production, which include integrated subsea services and engineering services, mechanical wireline, hydraulic workover and snubbing, well control, coiled tubing, electric line, pumping and stimulation and wellbore evaluation services; well plug and abandonment services; stimulation and sand control equipment and services; and other oilfield services used to support drilling and production operations. The subsea and well enhancement segment also includes production handling arrangements, as well as the production and sale of oil and gas. The drilling products and services segment rents and sells stabilizers, drill pipe, tubulars and specialized equipment for use with onshore and offshore oil and gas well drilling, completion, production and workover activities. It also provides on-site accommodations and bolting and machining services. The marine segment operates liftboats for production service activities, as well as oil and gas production facility maintenance, construction operations and platform removals. The Company's main competitors include Weatherford, Baker Hughes, Halliburton and Schlumberger. The Company's operations, and those of its customers, are subject to extensive laws, regulations and treaties relating to air and water quality, generation, storage and handling of hazardous materials, and emission and discharge of materials into the environment.
