Business Description

Interface Inc. engages in the design, production, and sale of modular carpet for commercial, institutional, and residential customers. The company offers modular and broadloom floor coverings with a focus on the high-quality, designer-oriented sector of the market, and provides specialized carpet replacement, installation and maintenance services. Additionally, the company offers Intersept, a proprietary antimicrobial used in a number of interior finishes, carpet tile installation systems under TacTiles brand, as well as traditional adhesives and products. In addition it provides commercial carpet installation services; and project management services for national accounts and other customers. The company markets products in over 110 countries under brand names such as InterfaceFLOR(r), Heuga(r), Bentley Prince Street and FLOR in modular carpet; Bentley Prince Street and Prince Street House and Home in broadloom carpet; and Intersept(r) in antimicrobial chemicals. The company's principal geographic markets are the Americas, Europe and Asia-Pacific, where the percentages of total net sales were approximately 55%, 34% and 11%, respectively, for fiscal year 2008. The company sells its products to retail space, government institutions, schools, healthcare facilities, tenant improvement space, hospitality centers, residences, home office space, architects, engineers, interior designers, and contracting firms.. Interface manufactures carpet at three locations in the United States and at facilities in the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, Australia and Thailand.
