Encore Wire Corp is a Delaware corporation, incorporated in 1989. The Company is a manufacturer of electrical building wire and cable. It is a significant supplier of building wire for interior electrical wiring in commercial and industrial buildings, homes, apartments, and manufactured housing. The Company conducts its business in one segment, the manufacture of electric building wire, mainly NM-B cable, for use as interior wiring in homes, apartments, and manufactured housing, and THHN/THWN-2 cable and metal clad and armored cable for use as wiring in commercial and industrial buildings. The Company sells its products mainly through 31 manufacturers' representatives located throughout the United States and, to a lesser extent, through its own direct marketing efforts. Its main customers are wholesale electrical distributors, who sell building wire and various other products to electrical contractors. The Company owns several registered trademarks and pending trademark applications with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. Its brands include SmartTrack, SmartColorID, SmartSun, SuperSlick Elite, Encore Performance. The Company's main competitors include Southwire Company, Cerro Wire LLC, United Copper Industries, General Cable Corporation and AFC Cable Systems, Inc. The Company is subject to federal, state and local laws and regulations governing the Company's operations and the use, handling, disposal and remediation of hazardous substances currently or formerly used by the Company.
