William Lyon Homes along with its subsidiaries designs, constructs & sells single-family detached & attached homes in California, Arizona, Nevada, Colorado, Washington & Oregon. Its segments are California, Arizona, Nevada, Colorado, Washington & Oregon.

William Lyon Homes Inc was incorporated in the State of Delaware on July 15, 1999. On May 21, 2013, the Company completed its initial public offering. The Company together with its subsidiaries is the Western U.S. regional homebuilders. It is mainly engaged in the design, construction and sale of single-family detached and attached homes in California, Arizona, Nevada, Colorado, Washington and Oregon. The Company conducts its homebuilding operations through six reportable operating segments; California, Arizona, Nevada, Colorado, Washington and Oregon. It designs, constructs and sells various homes designed to meet the specific needs of each of its markets. The Company makes use of advertising and other promotional activities, including on-line and social media, brochures, and the placement of strategically located sign boards in the immediate areas of its developments. In addition, the Company markets all of its products through the internet via email lists and interest lists, as well as its website at www.lyonhomes.com. In general, the Company's advertising emphasizes each project's strengths, the quality and value of its products and its reputation in the marketplace. The Company and its competitors are subject to various local, state and federal statutes, ordinances, rules and regulations concerning zoning, building design, construction and similar matters, including local regulation which imposes restrictive zoning and density requirements in order to limit the number of homes that can ultimately be built within the boundaries of a particular project.
