It develops, markets and operates social games as live services played over the Internet, social networking sites and mobile platforms. The Company's games are accessible on Facebook and other social networks, mobile platforms and Zynga.com. Its games are free to play, and it generates revenue through the in-game sale of virtual goods, mobile game download fees and advertising services. The Company has online social games, including the FarmVille, Words With Friends and Zynga Poker franchises. It processes and serves more than 300 terabytes of content for its players every day. On mobile platforms, it has several game franchises, including Words With Friends and Zynga Poker. In 2013, it released two mobile games, Running With Friends, rebranded as Stampede Run, and Solstice Arena. The Company has one operating segment with one business activity, developing and monetizing social games. Its registered trademarks in the United States include 'Zynga' and the names of its games, among others. It competes with Electronic Arts Inc., DeNA Co. Ltd., Gameloft, Glu Mobile, GREE International Inc., Activision Blizzard, Inc., Electronic Arts, Riot Games, Valve and Take-Two Interactive. The Company is subject to a number of foreign and domestic laws and regulations that affect companies conducting business on the Internet. It is also subject to federal, state and foreign laws regarding privacy and protection of player data, including the collection of data from minors.
