Rockwell Collins Inc designs, produces & supports communications & aviation systems for commercial & military customers & provides information management services through voice and data communication networks and solutions.

Rockwell Collins Inc was formed in 1933 and incorporated in Delaware. It designs, produces and supports communications and aviation systems for commercial and military customers. The integrated system solutions and products it provides to served markets are oriented around a set of core competencies: communications, navigation, automated flight control, displays/surveillance, simulation and training, integrated electronics and information management systems. It also provides various services and support to its customers through a network of service centers, including equipment repair and overhaul; service parts, field service engineering, training, technical information services and aftermarket used equipment sales. The Company operates in multiple countries. The Company serves its customer base through its Government Systems and Commercial Systems business segments. The Company's Government Systems business supplies defense communications systems and products as well as defense electronics systems and products, which include subsystems, navigation and displays, to the U.S. Department of Defense, other government agencies, civil agencies, defense contractors and foreign ministries of defense. The Company's Commercial Systems business supplies aviation electronics systems, products and services. Air transport aviation electronics include avionics, cabin systems and flight control systems for commercial transport aircraft platforms. Business and regional aviation electronics include integrated avionics, cabin management and flight control systems for application on regional and business aircraft platforms. The Company develops integrated avionics; cabin and flight control solutions for business and regional aircraft OEMs and support them with the integration into other aircraft systems. The Company also provides various services to its commercial customers. Commercial Systems customers include manufacturers of commercial air transport, regional and business aircraft, commercial airlines, regional airlines, fractional jet operators and business jet operators. The Company serves various customers internationally, including the U.S. Department of Defense, U.S. Coast Guard, civil agencies, defense contractors, foreign ministries of defense, manufacturers of commercial air transport, business and regional aircraft, commercial airlines, regional airlines, fractional jet operators, and business jet operators. The Company markets its systems, products and services directly to Government Systems and Commercial Systems customers through an internal marketing and sales force. Its competitors include Honeywell International, Inc., Thales S.A., Panasonic, Raytheon Co., Harris Corp., BAE Systems Aerospace, Inc., General Dynamics Corporation, L3 Communications, Inc., The Boeing Company, Northrop Grumman Corp. and CAE. The Company is subject to federal, state and local laws.
