(GuruFocus, July 31, 2009) GuruFocus is pleased to announce the creation of a new page that shows ETFs held in our Gurus’ portfolios. On the page, we list the number of Gurus who own the ETF, number of the Gurus who bought and sold the ETF in the past quarter, and the combined weightings of the ETF in Gurus’ portfolio.

Spider Gold Shares (GLD, Financial), Spider S&P500 ( SPY), Financial Select Sector SPDR (XLF, Financial), iShares Russell 1000 Value Index Fund (IWD, Financial) are among the top ETFs owned by Investment Gurus whom we track.

Currently, Spider Gold Shares (GLD) is the Number One ETF owned by Gurus. Among the ten Gurus who own GLD, hedge fund manager John Paulson and David Einhorn each has a large stake while Mutual fund manager David Winters and Jean-Mari Eveillard each owns a small position. On the other hand, Steve Mandel, Richard Perry, and George Soros each owns GLD call and put options, reflecting their dramatically diverged views on GLD.

ETFs are organized in these categories:
Bear MarketBondBroad MarketCommodityCurrencyGrowth & ValueIndustryInternationalLeverageSectorSpecialty

Clicking on each of the links on the ETF page will bring you to the corresponding ETF category owned by Gurus. For instance, if you are considering in investing in emerging market, click on “International” and it will show you the ETFs that invest in international markets. Two ETFs, EEM and EFA are owned by two gurus. Following through by clicking on each of the two ETF symbols, you will find David Swensen and Kenneth Fisher are the two same Gurus who own the two ETFs.

Worried the devaluation of the US dollar? Check out the Currency ETFs and you will find there are four of them that are currently owned by Gurus. Actually if you click on each ETF symbols, you will find they are all owned and only owned by Investment Guru John Hussman.

We think it is pretty cool. What do you think? Please leave your feedback by commenting on this article.

The Guru ETF holding page is just one of the new features we strive to bring to our users. We have also recently added the Guru option holdings page.
