Tom Russo is known for his favors in tobacco, liquor and food companies. He also likes to invest in international companies because he thinks they are better managed and think long term. Long term US dollar devaluation has helped his performances.

Tom Russo also bought into Wells Fargo warrants and JPMorgan Chase warrants. These warrants are sold by US government, which received from the banks during the TARP program. As pointed by Francis Chou, this is an interesting way to invest in banks.
