Steven Cohen, a billionaire hedge fund investor, is the founder of SAC Capital Advisors, a Stamford, Connecticut-based hedge fund. In both the second and third quarters, the guru bought the following stocks:

Kaiser Aluminum Corp. (KALU)

During the second quarter, the guru increased his fund's position by 60% and by 19.93% in the third quarter. The guru holds 0.2% of outstanding shares of the company, which is engaged in the production of semifabricated specialty aluminum products. The company has one operating segment, Fabricated Products. Third-quarter earnings per share was $1.02 compared to $1.07 in the same quarter of a year before and $1.02 in the prior quarter.

Chuck Royce (Trades, Portfolio) is the largest shareholder among the gurus with 3.13% of outstanding shares followed by Keeley Asset Management Corp (Trades, Portfolio) with 2.53%, Jim Simons (Trades, Portfolio) with 1.65%, Michael Price (Trades, Portfolio) with 1.15%, Pioneer Investments (Trades, Portfolio) with 1.08%, Third Avenue Management (Trades, Portfolio) with 0.28% and Paul Tudor Jones (Trades, Portfolio) with 0.02%.

Acorda Therapeutics Inc. (ACOR)

During the second quarter, the guru increased his fund's holding by 24.14% and again by 46.96% in the third quarter. The guru holds 0.24% of outstanding shares of the biopharmaceutical company. It is engaged in the identification, development and commercialization of novel therapies for the treatment of neurological disorders. During the third quarter revenue grew 10% from the same quarter of a year before. GAAP net loss attributable to Acorda was $12.7 million or 28 cents per diluted share, and GAAP net income in the same quarter of 2015 was $3.9 million, or 9 cents per diluted share.

Albemarle Corp. (ALB)

During the second quarter, the guru increased his fund's position by 163.10%. In the third quarter, he again added to his position by 25.11%. It is an integrated oil and gas company. The guru holds 0.05% of outstanding shares of the stock, which is a developer, manufacturer and marketer of engineered specialty chemicals. It provides its sevices to end markets including petroleum refining, consumer electronics, construction, automotive, lubricants and pharmaceuticals. Net sales increased 5% year over year, and adjusted EBITDA grew 10%. The company reported an increase of 26% for adjusted diluted earnings per share.

Spiros Segalas (Trades, Portfolio) is the largest shareholder among the gurus with 0.85% of outstanding shares followed by First Eagle Investment (Trades, Portfolio) with 0.63%, Royce with 0.43%, Pioneer Investments with 0.08%, John Burbank (Trades, Portfolio) with 0.06%, Simons with 0.06% and Mario Gabelli (Trades, Portfolio) with 0.03%.

uniQure NV Class BĂ‚ (QURE)

During the second quarter, the guru increased his position by 105.67% and by 4.28% in the third quarter. The guru holds 2.33% of outstanding shares of the company, which is engaged in the field of gene therapy and has developed a gene therapy product to receive regulatory approval in the European Union. Third-quarter revenues were 6.5 million euros ($6.91 million) compared with 3.1 million euros for the comparable period in 2015; net loss was 13.5 million euros, or 0.54 euros per share compared with 25.8 million euros, or 1.08 euros per share, for the third quarter of the prior year.

Gogo Inc. (GOGO)

During the second quarter, the firm increased its holding by 38.04% and then boosted it by 1,224,93% in the third quarter. The guru holds 0.59% of outstanding shares of the holding company. Through its subsidiaries the company is engaged in providing aero communications service for the aviation industry. It provides in-flight connectivity and wireless in-cabin digital entertainment solutions. During the third quarter revenue increased 17%, and net loss grew 15% from the same quarter of a year before.

Gabelli is the largest shareholder among the gurus with 0.91% of outstanding shares followed by Simons with 0.25% and Jones with 0.07%.

Finish Line Inc. (FINL)

During the second quarter, the guru increased his fund's position by 2,606.61%. In the third quarter, he added to the position by 138.55%. The guru holds 0.62% of outstanding shares of the mall-based specialty retailer and operates two retail divisions under the Finish Line brand name and operating segment Running Specialty Group. Consolidated net sales increased 5.4% from the same quarter of a year before, and Finish Line comparable store sales increased 5.1%.

Another notable shareholder among the gurus is Barrow, Hanley, Mewhinney & Strauss with 0.43% of outstanding shares followed by Greenblatt with 0.28%, Jones with 0.08% and Simons with 0.04%.

Cosan Ltd. (CZZ)

During the second quarter, the guru increased his holding 1,172.46% and again by 30.49% in the third quarter. The guru currently holds 0.07% of outstanding shares of the stock, which operates in three business segments: exploration and production; transportation and logistics; and refining and petrochemicals.

Simons is the largest shareholder among the gurus with 0.23% of outstanding shares followed by Barrow, Hanley, Mewhinney & Strauss with 0.14%.

Cheesecake Factory Inc. (CAKE)

During the second quarter the guru boosted his position by 38,225%. In the third quarter, he again added to his position by 64.12%. The guru holds 0.53% of outstanding shares of the company, which operates casual dining restaurants. It also operates bakery production facilities that produce desserts for its restaurants, international licenses and third-party bakery customers.
