Thank you very much for the opportunity to present today. I'm glad that this conference is virtual because if it was held in person, most likely, our flights would have been cancelled or delayed. Hello, everyone. My name is Stephan Jackman, and I'm the CEO of Alzamend Neuro.
Given the investor mindset of this audience, I'm sure everyone is aware that 2022 was the worst year for the stock market since 2008. The S&P was down nearly 20%, NASDAQ was down over 30%, and the collapse of crypto. The Federal Reserve raised rates seven times in 2022. And currently, the treasury yield curve is at its deepest inversion in 40 years.
The inverted yield curve preceded the recessions of 1990, 2001, and 2008. However, some of us can argue that recession has already started. I don't want to be all doom and gloom. I mentioned these facts because they all have one thing in common, they do not affect our science.
