Sierra Bancorp is a bank holding company, which through its bank, Bank of the Sierra offers retail and commercial banking services in the central and southern sections of California's San Joaquin Valley. The Company was formed to serve as the holding company for Bank of the Sierra and has been the Bank's sole shareholder since August 2001. Its chief products and services are related to the business of lending money and accepting deposits. The Bank's lending activities include real estate, commercial (including small business), agricultural, and consumer loans. The Company currently operates 25 full service branch offices throughout its geographic footprint, as well as an internet branch which provides the ability to open deposit accounts online. Additionally, Sierra Bancorp offers an array of deposit products for retail and business banking markets including checking accounts, interest-bearing transaction accounts, savings accounts, time deposits, retirement accounts, sweep accounts, and remote deposit capture. The Company offers a multitude of other products and services to complement its lending and deposit services. The Bank's deposit accounts are insured by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) up to maximum insurable amounts. Sierra Bancorp is subject to federal and state laws and regulations.
