Grupo Aeroportuario Del Pacifico Reports Passenger Traffic Increase of 13.1% for the Month of January

GUADALAJARA, Mexico, Feb. 05, 2020 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacifico, S.A.B. de C.V., (: PAC; BMV: GAP) (“the Company” or “GAP”) announced preliminary terminal passenger traffic figures for the month of January 2020, compared to traffic figures for January 2019.

During January 2020, total terminal passengers at GAP’s 14 airports increased by 13.1%, compared to the same period of the previous year. Domestic passenger traffic increased by 11.9%, while international passenger traffic increased by 14.5%.

Highlights for the Period:

  • Seats and Load Factors: In January 2020, the number of seats available increased by 11.3% compared to January 2019; while load factors for the month decreased by 140 basis points, from 81.2% in January 2019 to 79.8% in January 2020.
  • Kingston: The Company assumed control of the Kingston Airport on October 10, 2019. Historical figures are presented for comparison purposes, for a total of 159.2 thousand passengers at January 2020, a 13.1% increase compared to January 2019.
  • Coronavirus: On January 9, 2020 the Mexican Center for Disease Control released a Preventive Travel Warning to China. The alert did not impact GAP’s passenger traffic. Any effects in passenger traffic and operations related to this situation will depend on the length of the sanitary crisis and perception by tourism passengers over the control of this epidemic.
