Here's the Economic Calendar for the week commencing the 26th of December 2010. As we enter the last market week of 2010 there's only a handful of economic events this week. No doubt the interest rate increase in China will play a part in how the following week turns out. The main events this week will be Japan data (jobless rate, CPI, industrial production, and retail trade), and US data ( consumer confidence, and the S&P/Case-Shiller house price report), and China data (industrial profits and leading index).

As noted Japan has a few data points out this week, including Bank of Japan monetary policy meeting minutes, housing starts, employment data (expect little change), CPI (also expect little change), industrial production (expect a slight improvement), and retail sales (also expect a slight improvement). Over in the US the key events are consumer confidence (expecting a slight improvement), and the S&P/Case-Shiller housing price report (expect further deterioration). That's all for now in this holiday season trimmed down version of the economic calendar, have a good last trading week of 2010, and a great festive season!

And as always, have a great week, watch out for surprises, and stay tuned for updates...
