François Trahan is Vice Chairman and Chief Investment Strategist of Wolfe Trahan & Co., a premier investment research boutique. An economist by training with a master’s degree in econometrics, he is widely praised for his differentiated insights into the drivers and dynamics of the market place and his unique understanding of the business cycle. Institutional Investor magazine ranked Mr. Trahan top portfolio strategist for the past two years and in four of the past five years. In 2009, he also ranked third in the quantitative research category.

Prior to joining Wolfe Trahan, he was Executive Managing Director and Chief Investment Strategist at International Strategy and Investment Group (ISI), as well as head of ISI’s Quantitative Research Team. Mr. Trahan was formerly with Bear Stearns & Co. where he served as a Senior Managing Director and Chief Investment Strategist for four years. Earlier, he worked for Ned Davis Research and the Bank Credit Analyst Research Group. Mr. Trahan received his undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of Montreal.
