U.S. stocks closed with mixed returns again Tuesday. The Nasdaq gained 0.31% after gaining 0.49% Monday. The Wilshire 5000 gained 0.16%.
U.S. President Joe Biden ended talks with some Senate Republicans over infrastructure spending. A Biden Administration data report was also released suggesting a $50 billion investment needed for semiconductor production. The iShares PHLX Semiconductor ETF (SOXX, Financial) was down -0.57%.

- International trade data was released showing a balance of trade deficit of -$68.9 billion in April following a deficit of -$75 billion. Exports increased $204.99 billion in April and imports increased $273.89 billion.

- The Treasury held auctions for 42-day bills at a rate of 0.010% and 3-year notes at a rate of 0.325%.
