'What Stocks Did Warren Buffett Buy?' Contest Winner Announced

Warren Buffett announced his fourth quarter portfolio recently, which means we have a winner of our quarterly "What Stocks Did Warren Buffett Buy?" contest. This quarter, Atanveer correctly guessed that the Berkshire Hathaway chairman would buy IBM (IBM, Financial), Wells Fargo (WFC, Financial) and DirecTV (DTV, Financial). This is a snapshot of Atanveer's thought process:


WFC: Warren has been adding Wells Fargo to his portfolio every quarter for past few quarters. And both Warren and Munger love it. Given the stock prices in November around his previous purchase price, he is likely to add it.

IBM: Recently became one the biggest holdings in Buffet's portfolio. A stock with huge moat so likely to add more.

DTV: Typical Warren and Munger stock. Very good track record and has been trading lower than the last purchase price.
