Nokia (NOKIA, Financials) said it will invest $4 billion in the United States to expand research, development and manufacturing tied to artificial intelligence network connectivity. The company said the plan is being launched in collaboration with the administration of President Donald Trump.
The investment is aimed at strengthening the company's ability to support secure and scalable AI-optimized networks. Nokia said the added capacity will help improve productivity and expand the infrastructure needed to support next-generation connectivity technologies.
The move follows renewed investor interest in Nokia's AI initiatives and comes as demand for advanced network equipment grows alongside the expansion of AI data centers and edge computing. The company said the spending will enhance the U.S. domestic supply chain for critical communication technologies.
