NuStar Energy declared their quarterly distribution at $0.985 a share. For the first quarter, the oil pipeline operator doubled their profits and revenue compared to same period a year ago. On higher storage leases and product sales, the company earned $51.8 million or $1.05 a share, compared to $26.7 million or $0.57 a share a year ago.


Director William E. Greehey bought 20,000 shares on 7/9/08 at $46.36 and Director Dan J. Hill bought 1,400 shares as of January at $48.95 to $53.06.

Smithfield Foods Inc. (SFD): Director Paul J. Fribourg Bought 22,700 Shares


Smithfield Foods, Inc. (SFD), together with its subsidiaries, engages in the processing of pork and production of hog in the United States and internationally. The company’s fourth quarter, which ended in April, was hurt heavily by higher grain costs and lower pork prices. The pork product distributor’s profits declined 94% to $2.4 million or $0.02 a share from $37.1 million or $0.33 a share, although revenue rose 20% to $2.87 billion. The largest Chinese Pork and Agricultural Trading Company, COFCO, plans to invest 4.95% in Smithfield Foods. SFD’s shares dropped to a 5-year low on Tuesday.


Arnold Schneider and NWQ Managers bought shares in SFD; Ruane Cuniff kept his shares about the same, and David Dreman cut his shares by 39%.

CMGI reassured the public that they will be vamping up their marketing and programs to boost business.
