Apple Inc. (AAPL, Financial) is known for revolutionizing the way people communicate and use technology. Steve Jobs, who introduced the Mac and built an impressive line of gadgets, including the iPhone, iPad, iPod and much more, touched the ugly world and can rightly be credited for turning it into technology-oriented heaven. After Steve Jobs' death, the world was not too positive about the future of the company, but then the new CEO Tim Cook took the initiative and brought the spotlight back on the company which is known for providing the best pathfinding gadgets. The launching of the new Ultrathin Macbook is just one final hint that before leaving this world, ex CEO of Apple, Steve Jobs made sure to infuse creativity in his company’s culture.

Brand New Ultrathin Macbook

This week on Monday when in San Francisco Apple introduced its latest wristwatch gadget, it also took the opportunity to dazzle the world with the world’s first ever, thinnest laptop. The 12-inch laptop weighs only about 2 pounds. Good news for the people who want to have something unique and entirely different, without compromising on its technological capabilities. The new MacBook, like all other Apple gadgets, has been exquisitely designed. It will be made available in gold, silver and platinum. The thickness is just 13.1 mm and the sides look like the screen has simply popped up from a metal set. No USB ports or SD cards are needed because the gadget has been made to offer just one port C which can be used to attach it to other devices or to send multiple videos. The display is quite huge, with a screen of about 12 inches. The display is also of 2304×1440-pixels, which makes the user feel the power of using the Ultrathin macbook. Though the keyboard also had to be slimmed down to a much lower level, and one might feel less spring in the buttons but it can still be used to type fast and accurately. The core M processor with 256 storage area, RAM of 8 GB and battery of nine hours is all one needs for faster processing. Like all its other gadgets, the new MacBook is also targeted at a very niche, premium segment of buyers and therefore is priced at a whopping $1,300. It will be released for sale April 10.

Apple’s Macbook fight with Dell and HP

Dell (DELL, Financial) and HP (HPQ, Financial) might suffer some losses because of Apple’s latest addition to one of the most respected computers of all time. Dell's XPS13, with a 13.3 inch screen, can give Apple a run for its money. The 3200 X 1800 panel offers RAM of 8 GB and secondary storage of 128 GB. Though this seems impressive, Apple's products have always sold well because of a brand loyalty that Apple has been able to garner in the recent past.

HP is also not far behind in the race, and is trying to maintain the quality it is known for. The HP's latest laptop “Spectre X360” has a high processing i7 core. The 8GB RAM with the SSD of 256GB is its striking feature. The high resolution screen of 1920x1080 has made it quite popular and the company is all set to sell it for price around $1,150.

Final thoughts

Apple’s Ultrathin Macbook will definitely be the first choice of people who want to go for better resolution, longer battery life, faster processing and smarter, more portable computing devices. Still, it will have to compete on prices because Dell and HP’s cheapest laptops will make their way into countries where people have low purchasing power. Next coming months will be crucial for all companies to mark their competence in the technology arena. Only the sales generated at the end will be able to tell truly whether Apple could attract more customers with its Ultrathin Macbook or not.
