- The ADP Employment report showed an increase of 153,000 jobs in the private sector in December. The report was below consensus of 172,000 and also below last month’s report of 216,000.
- Jobless claims decreased by 28,000 for the week to a total of 235,000.
- The Purchasing Managers' Services Index decreased to 53.9 in December.
- The Institute for Supply Management’s Non-Manufacturing Index was unchanged at 57.2 and above consensus of 56.8.
- The EIA Petroleum Status report showed a decrease in oil inventory of -7.1 million barrels.
- Mortgage rates were lower with the Freddie Mac weekly mortgage rates survey showing a decrease in the weekly average mortgage rate at 4.20%.
