Bill Ackman Vs. Herbalife Documentary Opens in Theaters March 17

See the trailer of 'Betting on Zero'

March 17, 2017 | About:

The Wall Street movie documenting Bill Ackman (Trades, Portfolio)'s crusade against multi-level marketing company Herbalife (NYSE:HLF) and Carl Icahn (Trades, Portfolio)'s opposing position has been making its way around film festivals and opens in theaters Friday, March 17.

Writer and director Ted Braun explores whether or not Herbalife is a pyramid scheme exploiting its members and not delivering the income it promises them as Ackman has said. Ackman, the manager of hedge fund Pershing Square, has spent considerable effort to expose the company, but also stands to make billions if it fails.

The film, "Betting on Zero," goes behind the scenes with Ackman and looks at the company and its operations up close to give more in-depth picture of what most people have been reading in headlines.

The trailer is below, followed by opening dates and cities.

Theatrical release dates.

Really ???

A movie on someone who has just lost more than 3,5 Billions dollars (or more than 90%) on a single investment???

So, if Herbalife is a pyramid scheme, which it well may be, what is Valeant? A Ponzi scheme?

This whole Herbalife thing isn't difficult to understand.

Either the Herbalife company is what it says it is or it isn't. It's pretty black and white. They're either pregnant or they're not. It's either raining or it's not.

Use whatever cliche you want.

Had enough of this guy, only out to destroy value. Sure it's ok to short a stock, but it's definitly not ok anymore to spend huge money afterwards on publicity to try to destroy the same company and all of its stakeholders which include also a lot of employees, tax money that's flowing back to the citizens etc.. This is manipulation pure sang and. FTC should investigate Mr. Ackman, maybe someone should make a movie about him. Capitalism and activist investing should be about creating and helping to create value for society, not to be out for destroying value to fill one's own pockets even more than they already are. The dark side of capitalism is greed, Mr. Ackman is the perfect embodiment of the dark side
