Weight Watchers raises full-year guidance

Wall Street was up in Tuesday premarket trading, with only the Nasdaq Composite lower.

Shares of Weight Watchers International Inc. (WTW, Financial) gained more than 13% in premarket trading after the company reported financial results for its third quarter. EPS of 62 cents beat estimates by 11 cents and revenue of $323.7 million beat expectations by $4.3 million and increased 15.3% year over year.

Moreover, the company raised its full-year fiscal 2017 earnings guidance to range between $1.77 and $1.83 per diluted share.

The company achieved better performance in all major geographies, impacting earnings. Weight Watchers is preparing to launch its new program, which has received positive feedback from customers.

The main European stock markets traded lower. The U.K.'s FTSE 100 lost 0.65%, Germany's Dax fell 0.56%, France's CAC 40 was down 0.32% and Spain's IBEX 35 slid 0.86%.

In Asia, India’s BSE Sensex fell 1.07%, but the other indexes were up. Japan's Nikkei 225 climbed 1.73%, Hong Kong's Hang Seng gained 1.39% and China's Shanghai Composite inched up 0.75%.
