Economic reports affecting market trading included the following:
- Import and export prices were released Friday. Import prices increased 0.5% for the month of September and 3.5% annually. Export prices were unchanged for September and increased 2.7% annually.
- The University of Michigan’s Consumer Sentiment Index decreased to 99 from 100.1.
- The Baker Hughes North American rig count increased to 1,258 from 1,234.
