U.S. market indexes closed with gains Wednesday. The Nasdaq continued its strong momentum for a three-day gain of 2.5%. On the Nasdaq, Uxin ADR (UXIN, Financial) and LexinFintech Holdings ADR (LX, Financial) led gains with returns of 31.97% and 27.87%.
Investors were pleased with a report from China indicating the country was planning changes to its “Made in China 2025” policy. Changes to the policy are expected to ease trade tensions and provide for greater foreign company access.
Economic reports affecting market trading included the following:
- The Mortgage Bankers Association’s mortgage applications index increased 1.6%.
- The Consumer Price Index was unchanged in November and reported a 2.2% annual increase.
- The Treasury held an auction for 10-year notes at a rate of 2.915%.
