The company is too powerful, needs to be broken up

Facebook(FB, Financial) Co-Founder Chris Hughes appeared on CNBC on Monday to discuss breaking up big tech.

He said that since Facebook and CEO Mark Zuckerberg are not being accountable to investors, consumers and the government, the company should be broken up. Hughes also made it clear that the social media giant is too powerful and the era of self-regulation is over.

He also discussed income inequality and universal basic income, calling for higher taxes.
