Liberty Property Trust tops the list

Three long-term dividend payers announced quarterly distributions on Monday.

Shares of Liberty Property Trust (LPT, Financial) were unchanged at $51.38 in after-hours trading on Monday following the company’s announcement of a quarterly dividend of 41 cents per common share, which was in line with the previous payment.

On Oct. 15, Liberty Property Trust will pay the dividend to shareholders of record as of Oct. 1. The ex-dividend date is Sept. 30.

Based on the closing share price on Monday, the payment produces a forward dividend yield of 3.23% versus the industry median of 5.17% and versus the S&P 500 Index’s yield of 1.87%.

Headquartered in Wayne, Pennsylvania, the real estate investment trust has continuously paid quarterly dividends since Nov. 15, 1994.

The trailing 12-month dividend per share averaged a 0.2% increase every year over the past five years.

The stock has gained 22.7% year to date, outperforming the S&P 500 Index by 3.1%. The 52-week range is $39.82 to $53.39.

The stock has a market capitalization of $7.63 billion, a price-earnings ratio of 16.1, a price-book ratio of 2.26 and a price-sales ratio of 11.41.

Shares of Ryman Hospitality Properties Inc. (RHP, Financial) were unchanged at $82.30 in after-hours trading on Monday after the company announced a quarterly dividend of 90 cents per common share, in line with the previous payment. The dividend will be paid on Oct. 15 to shareholders of record as of Sept. 30. The ex-dividend date is scheduled for Sept. 27.

Based on the closing price on Monday, the distribution generates a forward dividend yield of 4.37%, versus the industry median of 5.17% and the S&P 500’s yield of 1.87%.

The Nashville, Tennessee-based hotel, resort, entertainment and media company has, though not continuously, paid dividends since December 1991.

The trailing 12-month dividend per share averaged a 1.5% increase per year over the last 60 months.

The stock has climbed nearly 23.4% year to date, outperforming the index by nearly 4%. The 52-week range is $64.36 to $89.50. The market capitalization is $4.23 billion, the price-earnings ratio is 16.3, the price-book ratio is 9.82 and the price-sales ratio is 2.98.

According to the Peter Lynch chart, the stock does not appear to be extremely overvalued.

Shares of Blackstone Mortgage Trust Inc. (BXMT, Financial) were flat in extended trading on Monday after the company announced a quarterly dividend of 62 cents per common share, which was in line with the previous distribution.

On Oct. 15, the company will pay the dividend to shareholders of record as of Sept. 30. The ex-dividend date is Sept. 27.

Based on Monday’s closing price of $36.13, the payment produces a forward dividend yield of 6.86%Â compared to the industry median of 5.17% and the S&P 500’s yield of 1.87%.

Headquartered in New York, the real estate finance company paid quarterly dividends between April 5, 1985 and Aug. 26, 1994, from April 15, 2003 to Oct. 15, 2008 and from Oct. 15, 2013 to July 15.

The trailing 12-month dividend per share was flat over the last five years.

The stock has risen 13.4% year to date, but underperformed the S&P 500 index by 6.2%. The 52-week range is $30.84 to $36.77.

The stock has a market capitalization of $4.85 billion, a price-earnings ratio of 14.58, a price-book ratio of 1.19 and a price-sales ratio of 12.89.

The stock doesn’t appear to be expensive, according to the Peter Lynch chart.
