Kemet Corp is a manufacturer of capacitors. Its product offerings include tantalum capacitors, multilayer ceramic capacitors, film capacitors, electrolytic capacitors, paper capacitors and solid aluminum capacitors.

Founded in 1919 as a subsidiary of Union Carbide, Kemet manufactures capacitors, which are electronic devices that store electricity. Its components are used in virtually every electronic product. Kemet sells its products to manufacturers and distributors in the computer, communications, industrial, and automotive industries. Distributors represent more than half of total sales, with the remainder split between electronics manufacturing services companies and original-equipment manufacturers.
