Matson Inc is a holding company, consisting of two segments, ocean transportation and logistics. The company also provides container stevedoring, container equipment maintenance and other terminal services for MatNav and other ocean carriers.

Based in Hawaii, Alexander & Baldwin operates three diverse segments: transportation, real estate, and agriculture. Matson, a wholly owned subsidiary, accounts for the majority of transportation revenue, providing containership services between the United States, China, Hawaii, and other Pacific islands. The real estate segment develops and manages property in the Western United States and Hawaii, while the agricultural segment operates Hawaiian sugar cane and coffee fields.
