Westlake Chemical Corp is a manufacturer and marketer of basic chemicals, vinyls, polymers and fabricated products. The company operates in two principal business segments, Olefins and Vinyls.

Westlake Chemical is a North American petrochemical producer. In North America, the company is the largest producer of low-density polyethylene, a plastic that goes into packaging, including plastic bags, plastic food wrap, and other forms of thin or flexible plastics. It is also a major producer of commodity polyvinyl chloride and construction products used in water and sewage pipes in the United States. The company has a European specialty PVC business with exposure to the automotive end market.
