Is TSLA buy here?
TSLACheck 15yr Change in Working Capital, CapEx, FCF, Construction in Progress, Net Income. Of course it's a cult stock and your faith in Elon but I bet if you ran stats on these metrics the correlations would be high. Gotta look past the P/E.
Add in Net Issuance of Debt during the 2017 crush and you'll find an even higher correlation. Henry Ford wanted to provide cars for the masses. GM/Cadillac saw the opportunity in shifting consumer demand for different styles and makes of automobiles.
Disclaimer: I have not held a position in TSLA in over a year. Just came here from a 2014 Damodaran journal paper that won an award.
Tesla is the 2020 version of RCA and GM in the Roaring 1920's. It's the Cisco or Yahoo of the Internet bubble.
The market cap is more than all of the other auto companies combined. it's expensive, but nobody cares. You don't usually do well buying high and hoping it goes higher, even though that has worked well in recent months. There will be a day of reckoning at some point. It's the classic turkey problem.
a clear NO... implied EBITDA (with current mkt. cap of tesla) would be @ ca. $45bn / year already now (not in future) to match the EBITDA of a mkt. cap weighted avg. of top 40 companies world wide...
i agree with valu2day. things may continue to increase but at some point the valuation will need to be justified. unless they stumble across something like amazon and AWS, the stock price will stagnate or sink.
Not a buy for me. What strikes me is that the Ford F-150 Lightening has preorders equivalent to 25% of all 2020 Tesla sales in the US. The competition is coming hard and fast as further evidenced by the decline of Tesla non domestic market share from 17% to 13%. It all looks very tenuous to me.
Tesla has much more going than just EV's, but I still don't see how that price can be justified.
While you would have won since May, playing the speculation game will inevitably result in disaster in the long run.
I think Tesla might have a very volatile climb upwards for the next two years, and then, all the predictions of the head of Toyota will come true, that Electric Vehicles won't really be 'the future'.
I think in the Medium Term, Mercedes will win out in the Electric Vehicle war. Since people will probably want more than what's a glorified KIA chassis with a battery. And in the long term Toyota will have Gasoline and then Gasoline and Hydrogen maybe.
Six months ago, i would say that Tesla is a perplexing gamble, in the past month or two, i think it's starting to sour.
I think basically the Value number on GF will basically decide the fate of Tesla
for the Value Investors
But if the GF Score drops any more, it's off the table for value investors, and only the gamblers and growth fanatics will be left as the true believers.
..........
My gut feeling is that, it might really be a buy below $200
