This is the update of the buys and sales of T. Rowe Price Equity Income Fund for third quarter. The fund is run by the firm’s CIO Brian Rogers.

The fund slightly underperformed the market in the past 12 months. But for the last 3, 5, and 10 year, the fund has outperformed. 91% of the fund is ini US stocks. 3% is in cash. Financials are the fund’s largest holdings. Brian Rogers commented:

“Financial stocks constitute the largest sector exposure in the portfolio. We are widely invested among capital markets firms, commercial banks, credit card issuers, and insurers in the belief that their prospects look bright. Consumer discretionary is another major component, with exposure to appliance manufacturers, high-end retailers, and media companies that should perform well as the economy gets stronger. We also favor traditional energy companies since demand for oil and gas should continue to grow until viable alternative energy sources are more widely available.”

And his outlook: “… stock valuations look attractive, dividend yields are relatively appealing, and money that has been sitting on the sidelines should eventually enter the market and drive further advances in equities. Taking the long-term view, we are reasonably optimistic that the next decade will be a more rewarding period for investors than the past decade.”
