Horsehead Holdings (ZINC)
During the second quarter Pabrai made a notable increase in his holdings in Horsead Holding Corporation. The guru upped his stake 141.97% by purchasing a total of 2,974,719 shares of the company’s stock. Pabrai purchased these shares while the stock was trading in the second quarter price range of $9.50 to $12.93 with an estimated average price of $11.19. The price per share has increased 6.7% since then.
Pabrai now holds on to a total of 5,070,000 shares of Horsehead, representing 11.52% of the company’s shares outstanding and 15.4% of his total portfolio.

Also during the second quarter Mohnish Pabrai made a much smaller increase to his position in Chesapeake Energy. The guru increased his holdings 1.68% by purchasing 53,895 shares of the company’s stock. He bought these shares in the second quarter price range of $18.47 to $22.58 with an estimated average price of $20.29. Since then the price per share has increased approximately 23.3%.
Pabrai now holds on to 3,268,145 shares of Chesapeake Energy, representing 0.49% of the company’s shares outstanding and 15.8% of his total portfolio.
