Over the past five years through Dec. 20, the S&P 500 has risen 54.2% to Friday’s closing price of $3,221.22. A 41% growth in the earnings per share (not inflation-adjusted) of the benchmark for U.S. markets acted as the main catalyst throughout the whole observed period.

My guess is that in the future, the Chinese version of the transcript will be available.
Another reader asked whether it’s possible to know of this event in advance. Unfortunately, the answer is also no. Based on my knowledge, this was

Buffett invested $232 million into BYD Co. Ltd. (OTCPK:BYDDY) in September 2008, taking a 10% stake with 225 million shares for about HK$8, or US$1, each. In his shareholder letter that year, Buffett called it in passing, “an amazing Chinese company.” Slightly more than one year later, in October 2009, the company’s stock

Five years later, BYD appears to be showing signs of progress and Buffett’s investment is beginning to multiply.
Buffett first addressed his BYD holding in his 2008 shareholder letter, casually mentioning that at his annual shareholder meeting, “The future will
