Ladies and gentlemen, good morning. My name is John Bevan, and as your Chairman, it is my pleasure to welcome you to the BlueScope Steel Annual General Meeting for 2019. As the necessary quorum is present, I declare this Annual General Meeting of Shareholders open.

In keeping with BlueScope's commitment to reconciliation and respect, I acknowledge the Turrbal people as the traditional owners of the land where we gather today and recognize this land has always been under their custodianship. I pay respect to elders past and present and the emerging community leaders. I also extend respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders people here today.

We are very pleased to be here in Brisbane for our annual meeting, although the directors and I acknowledge it has been very difficult for many Queenslanders confronting the unprecedented droughts and bush fires in recent times.

BlueScope has considerable business in Queensland, and we employ about 550 Queenslanders, of which there are quite a few in the room
