Guru Commentaries on NYSE:KOS
We own Kosmos Energy for its competitive advantage in offshore expertise, with the stock trading at a discount to the value of existing production. Kosmos outperformed in the first quarter as spot Brent crude oil neared $127 following the Strait of Hormuz closure. The company's offshore producing assets in the Gulf of Mexico, Ghana, and Equatorial Guinea benefited from the geopolitical risk premium on oil prices, while higher global LNG prices increased revenue from the recently-commissioned Greater Tortue Ahmeyim project.
Kosmos Energy Ltd. (KOS) is an independent exploration and production (E&P) focused offshore. Kosmos is competitively differentiated because of the expertise it takes to explore, discover and operate assets offshore. Kosmos’ producing assets are located in the US Gulf of Mexico, Ghana and Equatorial Guinea.
Kosmos Energy Ltd. (KOS) is an independent exploration and production company focused offshore. In addition to its existing production, KOS has liquified natural gas (LNG) assets that are set to begin production in 2024 and a platform to acquire and operate additional offshore resources. We believe these short-term issues are significantly outweighed by the long-term value of the company’s existing production, which the current stock price does not fully reflect.
