In simple terms, this was a planned investment period to support future growth. Revenue grew 9% to GBP5 million, which reflects contributions from last year's acquisitions and steady performance across both locksmith and fire and security. But we made a conscious decision to use the first half to invest in the business.
We strengthened the management team and continue to do so, reorganized parts of the group, consolidated four branches into two, refurbished key sites, and completely reset our Google Ads strategy and online platform. All of which takes time and money, and some of it temporarily reduced online sales while we rebuilt the platform properly.
Profitability was lower in the short-term but this was not unexpected. We
